Australian Man Glues Gold Coin To Step...And Wins More Than A$1 million

The lucky fellow is a retired policeman, who glued the gold coin on his step because an article on feng shui said it would bring luck. Lucky he was, as he won the jackpot in Australia's BoysTown lottery. He won a luxury beachfront house worth about A$1.2 million and, because he bought four tickets, also won $75,000 in gold bullion. He plans to sell the house, and cash in the bullion for a trip.

He reckons his stroke of luck was all down to the gold coin.

Since gluing it in place in November, he's also won two lotto prizes worth more than $1000.

"I had lost a fair bit of money, so I thought ... why not!" he said of adopting the feng shui practice.

"I was pretty embarrassed about it at the time."

Not that I'm advocating the practice...
